Pokemon Pokopia is a life simulation and habitat building game developed by Game Freak in collaboration with Omega Force (Koei Tecmo) and published by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. Released on March 5, 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, it sold over 2.2 million copies in its first four days, making it one of the best-selling Switch 2 launch titles.
Players take on the role of a Ditto who has transformed into a human and must build habitats to attract and recruit all 303 Pokemon across five distinct regions. The game features a unique building system where players gather materials, construct habitats to specific comfort and environment levels, and manage weather and time-of-day conditions to attract rare Pokemon. There are no battles or evolution mechanics — each Pokemon in an evolution family is recruited separately.
With 214 habitats to build, 27 Mysterious Slates to collect for the Mew questline, 125 Human Records to discover, and a robust 4-player multiplayer mode, Pokopia offers hundreds of hours of content. The game received a Metacritic score of 89 and has been praised for its relaxing gameplay loop, charming visuals, and the depth of its habitat-building mechanics.
